•In
this league the Co-Ed rule is enforced!&nbs=
p;
This means if your team has more
than
one contact with the ball, one of them has to have been a girl.
•A team may play with as few as 4 players, but never
more than three guys on the court
at any time.
•Player rotation is mandatory. Starting with the service position
which is back right, players
will rotate every time they win the serve through a side out, and may not =
overlap adjacent players, (both side to side, and
front to back).
•Back-row attack occurs when a player that starts in
the back-row contacts the ball above
the plane of the net from in front of the ten-foot line and the ball goes =
over
the net. This is a fault, play will stop a=
nd the
ball is awarded to the opposing team.
•When there is only one guy starting at the net, a =
guy
can come from the back row to participate in a block.&nb=
sp;
But ONLY if there are never more than two guys up at the net, anywhere along the net, during the block.
•All games will be Rally Scoring – Every serve
awards a point, if the ball hits the net and comes over, it’s LIVE!
•Stay
out of the net, if you touch the =
net,
play must stop.
•A block does not co=
unt
as a hit. The ball is consid=
ered
live for both teams when it
is
in the vertical plane of the net. You cannot block or attack the serve.=

•You cannot double-contact, lift, throw or carry=
the
ball. A lift or carry is defined by the ball coming to rest while in contact with a=

part of your body. =

For 2011-2012 we will be using a self-reffing
format. This means to ref yo=
ur own
team, not your opponents. If you have a disagreement with a=
play
across the net, after the
play discuss it and replay the point.&nbs=
p;
If you need any additional help or a rules clarification, ask the court director.

•In this league the Reverse Co-Ed rule
is enforced! This means if y=
our
team has more than one conta=
ct
with the ball, one of them has to be a GUY. Al=
so,
the guys are considered
back row players the whole time.
This means they cannot block or attack =
the ball in front of the ten foot line. This includes fake blocking.
=
(Back-row attack occurs when a player that starts =
in
the back-row contacts the ball above the plane of the net from in front of the ten-foot li=
ne
and the ball goes over the net. This is a fault, play will stop a=
nd the
ball is awarded to the opposing team.)
•Most often teams will consist of 2 guys and 2
girls. A team may play with =
more
than two girls, but the
third and fourth girls must be designated as ‘guys’ for the en=
tire
game. They can switch who is the design=
ated
‘guy’ from one game to the next, but some kind of obvious designation must be used. (Similar shirts, etc.)
